We’ve decided to head over to the Skibum
Soiree and went to get directions at the library. After 145 km and a quick bite at a grocery
store along the way, we were there.
Dual sport riders from all over congregate
here on “The Rock” to ride the trails and enjoy an evening or two with like
minded people. First class
accommodations were provided; a lush flat patch of grass in the apple
orchard. This is the 2nd Annual Soiree
skibum69 has hosted.
When it came down to the machines, all the
major players were in attendance. We met
ADV inmate MZcountryboy from Vermont who came with his friend on a BMW GS with
a sidecar attached to it. MZcountryboy had
broken his wrist recently in a motorcycle accident and had to ride in the
sidecar while his friend navigates the GS.
What a trooper. MZcountryboy invited
us over to his place if we ever pass through Vermont on our way back home.
Skibum69’s ride takes the prize for best in
show in my humble opinion; a heavily modified KTM. I believe he was planning on using it for
either the Baja 1000 or the Dakar Rally.
Skibum69 has ridden in a few enduro races
including one in Mongolia
